Abstract
Procédé et appareil pour la détermination de la porosité de couches de terrain par émission et mesure de l'énergie de neutrons. Le procédé consiste à irradier dans un trou de forage une couche de terrain par des neutrons rapides et à émettre un signal caractéristique représentatif de la population de neutrons rapides présents dans ce trou de forage à une certaine distance D1 de la source de neutrons rapides. De préférence, on détecte également la population de neutrons épithermiques à une distance D2 de la source de neutrons. On combine les signaux représentatifs de la population de neutrons rapides et de la population de neutrons épithermiques pour obtenir un signal de mesure de la porosité du terrain. L'appareil consiste en une sonde contenant une source de neutrons rapides et un détecteur de neutrons rapides et un détecteur de neutrons épithermiques. L'installation comporte en outre des moyens de traitement des signaux délivrés par les capteurs.
