Abstract

A housing has an axially extending outer wall and a number of inner walls, the outer and inner walls being concentric. The inner walls have gradually decreasing diameters. A housing inlet opens to an outer annulus formed between the outer wall and the inner wall next adjacent the outer wall. A valve nozzle introduces and tangentially accelerates varying amounts of fluid into the outer annulus and tangential to the outer wall. Deflectors for direct and further tangentially accelerate the fluid having passed through the outer annulus through the series of annuli formed by the inwardly spaced concentric inner wall. An annular exit is formed by the innermost wall and the next adjacent inner wall.
