Abstract

The temporary roadside marker is supported on a conventional cone marker (2). It can be used for highway construction and maintenance. It is a rectangular strip (1) with a transverse hinge (6) at approximately the three-quarter height point. The smaller top flap (4) has a hole so that it can fit over the top of the cone. The larger flap (3) is marked with information symbols e.g. chevrons, and hangs vertically when the marker is supported on a cone, with the top flap horizontal. The hinge (6) may provide for rotation through 180 deg., and the major faces of the flaps may both be marked but with different signals.
