Abstract

A drive for the stirring, aerating mechanism of an effluent aerator transfers the power via an output shaft. The output shaft is coupled to a turntable. The drive gear train normally has a number of small gears which are vulnerable and causes stoppages when the load changes suddenly as it does in effluent treatment. Hear the power is transferred to one very large gear (the turntable) so that the equipment is much less likely to breakdown as a result of load changes.
