Abstract

Prepn. and distribution appts. for animal feeds, partic. pulverulent materials mixed with water for pigs, comprises a tank, with a stirrer, and an internal pump for the evacuation of the finished mixt. The tank is fed with water from the pipe via a pump. The feedstuff, in the form of a powder or particles is introduced through the hopper. A single motor drives the shaft by the pulley and a belt. The shaft carries the two sets of helical blades as well as the spiral rotor of the horizontal pump. The body of the latter consists of two half bushes of rubber held together by nuts and bolts; these can be tightened to take up any wear of the stator. As the stirrers and the pump work in synchronism at the bottom of the tank, a perfectly homogeneous mixt. of the different ingredients leaves at the outlet. Appts. is more compact than conventional mixers of this type and operation is simpler; the resulting mix is more intimate and homogeneous.
