Abstract

Ice-cream prod. for confectionery or dessert, consists of ice-cream and chewing gum, placed in a common container, to remove any after-taste. The external envelope, in the form of an inverted cone, can be made of paper, metallised paper, plastic film or a moulded plastic material. It can also consist of the conventional cornet of the wafer biscuit type with an external protective envelope. A tablet of chewing-gum is placed below the ice-cream and is only accessible when the latter has been consumed; it can then be recovered by the consumer. The chewing gum when placed in the palate, after consuming the ice-cream, acts as a cold source which only takes up heat gradually; this ensures a slow transition from the low temp. produced by the ice-cream back to the normal temp. The chewing-gum also promotes a salivary secretion which rinses the palate and removes the remainder of the ice-cream.
