Abstract

The sole for running shoes has metallic points fitted into studs which project from the surface of the sole. At least the front of the sole is divided into three zones (4, 5, 6) by grooves(2, 3) running across the sole. Each zone has studs (7, 16, 26) with a hole(8, 17, 27) into which the points are fixed and smaller studs(9, 18, 28-31) project from them. Smaller studs are also placed between the studs(10, 23, 25, 36) and all the smaller studs are placed on lines(41-46) which converge towards the toe. In the centre zone(5) there is a stud(20) with no point but with smaller studs which support the foot when running.
