Abstract

The reflector is used especially for headlights and for street lights. The light source has small radiation region and its mirror surface is fully or partly patterned. These patterned sections consist of connected convex or concave spherical segments for distributing light so that the light distribution is corrected. The spherical segments are arranged closely together and they are separated by straight lines. This ensures asymmetrical light radiation which can be readily calculated. The spherical segments (3) are arranged side by side closely in rows. These spherical segments (3) are arranged so that each spherical segment (3) forms a rectangle. These rows of segments can be staggered and each spherical segment (3) can have a diamond shaped cross section in plan view.
