Abstract
A signal is quadrature with a reference signal is generated by an integrated circuit for use in PAL system colour TV decoding for the receiver. No manual controls are required for adjustment for compensation of temp. or ageing. A PAL TV system decoder (10) receives a chrominance reference signal (U) and a phase variable chrominance signal (V). The reference is applied to a crystal controlled sub-carrier oscillator (20) via a phase detector (26) to provide a quadrature output signal (38). This signal is applied to timing circuit (22) to produce an output (66) in quadrature with its input (66). These signals are then applied to colour demodulators (74, 78).
