Abstract

Metal cladding (12) is applied to a wall (2) which may be made of concrete, by welding the sheets (12) edge to edge together. First of all hollow metal sections (6) are fixed to the wall, and the sheets (12) then applied so that the weld faces the sections. The space between the wall (2) and the sheets (12) is then filled up. The sections (6) can first be applied to a framework which is then used as a support for shuttering. The sections can be in the shape of a U, a C. and O or a D. The sections are made of the same metal as the cladding. A metal slat (11) made of the same metal as the cladding, can be soldered onto each section and can act as a support for the cladding. The assembly can be checked by X or y rays, or by means of gas with a gas detector.
