Abstract

New silanes derived from pinacol, especially useful as antistructure agents in the prepn. of organopolysiloxane elastomers, use of formula (I):- (where X is Cl or -O-C(=O)R; R and R1 are 1-6C alkyl or Ph; and n=1-5). The silanes are much more effective antistructive agents than (tetramethyl-ethylenedioxy)dimethyl silane. Specific (I) are (tetramethylethylenedioxy)-(chloromethyl)methyl silane and -(acetoxymethyl)methyl silane.
