Abstract

The hopper (18) has a sloping bottom and a controllable opening arranged between the bottom and the front wall. The hopper is carried by a structure (21) on lift mechanism (20) enabling it to be lowered for filling and raised for emptying. The opening comprises flaps (30, 31) pivoted to the lower edge of wall (16) and bottom (19) respectively. Each flap has sidewalls and plates (35) are pivotally connected between the walls of each flap at each side. A jack (40) is pivotally connected between wall (16) and a bracket on flap (30). Pressure on the jack closes the opening. On release of pressure, a spring opens the flaps, the interconnected sides of which form a funnel for discharge of the grain.
