Abstract

The mirror system uses a plane glass (1) having a reflecting optical layer (2). Associated with the glass (1) is a transparent glass (3) situated at some distance from it (1) so that the reflecting layer (2) is inside a space (4) existing between the panes (1 and 3). A joint (5) arranged between the panes over the whole length of their exterior assures sealing of the space (4) and thus protection of the reflecting layer. The system also includes a plane glass mirror (6) whose reflecting surface (7) faces the reflecting layer (2) of the glass (1). Thus a system of two facing plane mirrors is formed. The mirror system is enclosed in a housing (8). The system has also means for illuminating the space (9) between the glass (1) and the mirror (6).
