Abstract

A propulsive charge incorporates a thin flexible screen between the blocks of propellant material constituting the charge and the bonding of the charge to the structure of the outer envelope. The bonding consists of plastic enclosures which have important characteristics for the mechanical and chemical stability during storage. The screen is a material which is impervious to the migration of the active constituents of the propellant material, and which can be applied easily to complex geometrical shapes. Problems associated with modifications of the internal structure of the bonding are avoided. Such modification is generally due to the migration of active components of the powder, e.g. nitroglycerine, causing a loss of efficiency. The invention prevents the migration occuring and provides efficient protection against permature ignition.
