Abstract

The main fitting comprises moulded columns (10) with web (11) and flange (13). The sealing strip (14) is made of rubber or plastics material. The mounting (10) has a rebate (15) at the forward edge a strip of metal (16) fastened to the mounting. This strip deflects any water sideways onto the pane (12). It deflects water off the roof and protects the entry. The gap between the pane (12) and fitting at (11) is filled by a 'T' moulding (17) held in a slotted strip (18) fastened to the fitting. Some variants substitute the moulding (10, 11, 13, 15) with a box section under the pane (12) with a sealing strip (13) and a member overlapping the pane and attached to a flange off the box. The section can serve as an embellishment.
