Abstract

Until now, supporting structures, in particular bridges, were pushed into their final position only when the height of the supporting structure was constant over the entire length. As a result of the individual bays having variable span sizes, it may however be the case that such a supporting structure, resting on a plurality of support elements, will require a correspondingly variable overall height. The invention is based on the object of providing a possibility to use simple means to push supporting structures, including supporting structures with varying overall height, into position. This object is achieved by virtue of the fact that the supporting structure, with an overall height varying over the length of the supporting structure, has sliding surfaces (14) which are used for moving the supporting structure and which extend continuously at the same level.
