Abstract

The primary conveyor belt (1) is adjacent to a secondary belt perpendicular to the main belt. A second belt makes a smaller angle with the primary belt. The conveyor belts are supported by rollers (3). The main conveyor is fitted with three diverter rollers (5). The diverters are separated by a cross roller (3). The diverter rollers consist of one or more discs connected by an independent belt to a drive pulley. The surface of the disc is roughened by transverse grooves. Each disc has a segment of the circle cut away so as to have a flat surface on one side. When the flat surface is horizontal its level is just below the conveyor level. The revolving disc lifts the articles out of the way.
