Abstract

La présente invention concerne des matières absorbantes et leur procédé de fabrication. La matière absorbante selon l'invention est du type comprenant un amidon gélatinisé réticulé pratiquement insoluble dans l'eau, substitué par des groupes ioniques rattachés à l'amidon par des groupes éther et associés à des ions opposés monovalents ou divalents. Elle est caractérisée par le fait que le degré de substitution des groupes réticulants est de 0,001 à 0,04 et que le degré de substitution des groupes ioniques est tel que le dérivé d'amidon réticulé ait une rétention d'urine d'au moins 6 g/g. Application aux produits absorbants jetables.
