Abstract

An electrode is composed of shavings of an electrically conductive material compacted into a block. The block is strengthened by binding it with metallic strips of the same material as the block. The electrode is produced by impregnating the shavings with oil and then compacting them. Used in the coagulation treatment of waste water and other effluents, the electrodes dissolve peripherally and not internally which would cause their disintegration.
