Abstract

A compsn. for the repair of depressed cutaneous scars comprises fibrin stabiliser(s) (I) and plasma (II) in an amt. to provide sufficient fibrin within a cavity formed under the scar and the fibrin stabiliser being present in an amt. to maintain the fibrin in the cavity and thereby cause build-up of collagen. The build-up of collagen results in the permanent elevation of the depression to produce a more continuous skin surface that improves the cosmetic appearance of the patient. Pref. compsns. comprise 20-50 mg of absorbable gelatin sponge, 12.5-75 mg of aminocaproic acid and 0.3-5cc of plasma.
