Abstract

Flexible reservoirs for contg. liquids are made with two compartments having no intermediate diaphragm or lining which allows one compartment to be emptied by filling the other. A liquid in one compartment can be expelled relatively quickly by pumping a fluid into the other compartment using a pump or pressure source which can be remote from the reservoir. Typical reservoirs are made of 1200 g/m2 fabric of 'Panama' weave from 2x2 1670 dtex filaments (60 twists/m), coated on both faces with plasticised PVC. Petrol tanks may have a coating or liner of polyurethane film, and polyethylene couplings for connection with input/output hoses.
