Abstract

A piezoelectric resonator (1) constructed as thickness-shear mode transducer, possibly in the form of a plane-parallel plate, is specified which carries on its opposite (longitudinal) surfaces electrodes (2, 3). Holders (5, 6) of the resonator are attached to opposite surfaces perpendicular to the longitudinal surfaces and not covered by electrodes in the neutral zone (4). This neutral zone remains at rest during the vibrations of the resonator so that the holders do not cause any unwanted damping.
