Abstract

The insulation fault detection system has a supervisory circuit which permanently applies a continuous voltage to the terminals of a protection circuit. The supervisory circuit is connected by diode bridges (11) to the supply circuit of the machine to be protected. The systems power circuits, switching circuits and transistorised circuits are connected so as to form two independent parallel protection circuits (100, 200). They are connected to operate in opposite sense under the effect of a fault signal. Each of the protection circuits supervises the other. The protection circuits are connected to the electrical machine circuit, to the frame and to an earth connection by two independent connections. The terminals of these connections are separated from the supply circuit, the frame and earth by pairs of zener diodes (206, 204). The zener diodes (206, 204) have a determined trigger level.
