Abstract

The steadying bush is made up from two components. The inner bush (1) is plain and has an inner diameter which contacts the shaft (3). The bush is held in position by a housing (4) which is a loose fit on the shaft, the outer bush having a flange (7) on one end which is held in the main housing. The inner bush is made in plastic material and the external bush is made from elastic material. The inner surface of the inner bush may also be serrated to give point contact with the shaft.
