L'invention concerne une soudeuse à bandes pour la fermeture de sacs. Ladite machine comporte un bâti comprenant deux plaques horizontales délimitant entre elles une fente longitudinale. Deux chaînes transporteuses sans fin passent le long de la fente et entraînent les sacs par leurs parties supérieures. Les sacs passent par un poste de chauffage entre deux bandes sans fin chauffées par des coulisseaux de transmission de chaleur. La zone soudée passe ensuite entre des bandes de refroidissement d'un poste de refroidissement où ladite zone se rétracte. Les bandes de chauffage et de refroidissement sont sollicitées par de faibles ressorts qui cèdent au passage de la zone soudée de manière à ne pas l'écraser. Ainsi, les soudures sont suffisamment refroidies à la sortie de la machine pour que les sacs puissent être manipulés sans précaution particulière. Application au soudage en continu de sacs en matière plastique, notamment en polyéthylène.The invention relates to a belt sealer for closing bags. Said machine comprises a frame comprising two horizontal plates defining between them a longitudinal slot. Two endless conveyor chains pass along the slot and lead the bags through their upper parts. The bags pass through a heating station between two endless belts heated by heat transmission slides. The welded area then passes between cooling bands of a cooling station where said area retracts. The heating and cooling bands are stressed by weak springs which yield to the passage of the welded area so as not to crush it. Thus, the welds are sufficiently cooled at the outlet of the machine so that the bags can be handled without special precautions. Application to the continuous welding of plastic bags, in particular polyethylene.
