Abstract

The stripline phase shifter, for a controlled-direction antenna, consists of several hybrid phase-shifting circuits separated by hybrid biasing circuits. Each hybrid circuit has a printed circuit on each side of the dielectric substrate. Each phase shifting circuit contains 2 diodes poled and connected so that they short circuit their phase-shifting circuit when forward biased. The substrate is sandwiched between two dielectric plates. The resulting sandwich is in turn located between the earthed planes.
