Abstract

La présente invention a trait à la production de billettes par refendage de brames coulées en continu. Elle consiste à découper les brames en billettes dès leur sortie de la machine de coulée continue, après qu'elles aient été tronçonnées, sur une table à rouleaux située dans le prolongement de la machine de coulée ou à côté de celle-ci. Le découpage peut être effectué au moyen de chalumeaux fixes sous lesquels défilent les brames; il peut aussi être réalisé au moyen de chalumeaux déplaçables le long des brames qui sont alors maintenues fixes pendant le découpage. L'invention trouve son application en sidérurgie.
