Abstract

Le procédé et le dispositif de la présente invention permettent de commander la formation des gouttelettes dans une imprimante à jet d'encre. A cet effet, on éclaire une certaine partie du jet d'encre avant que celui-ci ne se divise en gouttelettes. On détecte ensuite le profil des ondes de surface résultantes de manière à obtenir un premier signal à une fréquence F et au moins un second signal à une fréquence nF, n étant un nombre entier >=2. On combine ensuite le premier signal et le second de manière à obtenir un signal de commande qui sert à exciter le jet d'encre, cette excitation permettant de commander la formation des gouttelettes.
