Abstract

A pallet (7) has cans or receptacles packed on it, covering its whole surface. The cans are of irregular octagonal shape. Opposed sides of the cans are equal and parallel to one another, the included angles are the same but adjacent sides are unequal. This facilitates the cans being packed on different size standardised pallets so as to cover the whole surface of the pallet, by arranging the cans in a different manner on the different pallets. The various can sides are parallel to one another in pairs.
