Abstract

A multifrequency signal generator can provide a signal made up of the sum of sinusoidal signals with different frequencies. It is used to transmit dialling signals between two telephone exchanges. The generator has a switching circuit (CC) and a summing and filtering circuit (SF). The circuit receives up to seven rectangular signals (FE1,...,FE7) with separate frequency for each. The signals (FE1,...,FE7) are taken to seven gates (NB1,...NB7). Each gate (NB1,...,NB7) also receives a control signal from a switch (CD1,...,CD7) and supplies two signals (ON1, OB1; ....: ON7, OB7) to the summing and filtering circuit (SF). The summing and filtering circuit (SF) produces the summed frequencies signal (FS).
