Abstract

Plastics seat for mopeds comprises a single-piece outer component formed by a hollow seat-shaped shell of polymeric material. A metal plate serving as reinforcement, is arranged in the hollow of the shell and provided with >=1 pair of screw threaded bolts for fixing to the frame of the moped. The vol. of the cavity of the shell is considerably greater than that of the plate, the space defined by plate and seat cavity being filled with polyurethane foam. This serves both as a padding and, by enveloping the metal plate, as a connection of the latter with the shell, bonding both firmly together so that the entire seat assembly forms an integral structural unit. Construction is simple, dispensing with springs and outer paddings. The moped seat is wear-resistant and has long service life. It affords a rider a comfortable and secure seat.
