Abstract

Reproducible mfr. of optical, plastics, elements by casting of injection-moulding polymerisation, comprises making of these elements, which have been tested for their optical accuracy and efficiency. These model then serve for mfr., by galvanoplastics method, of components of casting or injection-moulds which, in turn, enable the intended accurate optical elements to be mfd. Used for mfr. of plastics optical elements having complex and non-uniform and/or (ir)regular, (non)spherical, optical surfaces, e.g. Fresnel lenses. Mass-prodn. of plastics, optical components is possible, at relatively low cost. No post-machining or other post-treatment of the prods. is necessary.
