Abstract

The unit is used for transporting skis on a roof rack and can be locked to prevent theft. It comprises U-shaped blocks (2) forming a carrier fixed to the rack bars (15) using nuts (16, 17) on the underside. The channel formed by the sides is lined with rubber (4, 5), and, on one side, is pivoted (8a) a clamp. Each clamp is also approximately U-shaped, the central portion (6) having a rubber pad (7) holding the skis when swung over the top. The longer side (9) is provided with a catch (10, 11) locking under a spring loaded barrel pawl (12, 13) which can be further secured with a padlock.
