Selon l'invention, au moins l'un des éléments (fût ou manchettes) comprend un corps en une matière plastique expansée moulée telle que le polystyrène expansé moulé, en outre ledit corps est associé solidairement à une âme en matériau rigide tel que le bois, le métal, ou une matière plastique sous forme de plaque ou traverses, elles-mêmes en forme de planches, lames, etc L'invention s'applique à la réalisation de fauteuils ou de canapés.
