Abstract

The economiser has a pre combustion chamber which is air cooled and may be made from a cast steel Tee, suitable for a pressure of 50 bars. The spark plug is fitted onto the Tee and connected to the cylinder head by a pipe. The air fuel mixture is supplied by an automatic valve through the carburetter. The carburetter is set to provide a slightly rich mixture. The ignited fuel spreads to the main combustion chamber. During slow running the fuel consumption is restricted to the economiser chamber.
