Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de traitement du charbon afin de l'utiliser comme combustible. Le procédé selon l'invention consiste à désulfurer le charbon au moyen des étapes suivantes : broyer d'abord le charbon 1, convertir une partie du charbon broyé en méthanol 4 qui est mélangé à la partie restante du charbon broyé pour former une boue de méthanol et de charbon 5, extraire une certaine quantité de soufre du charbon broyé pendant la formation du méthanol et, quand il se trouve à l'état de boue, extraire le soufre du charbon broyé 6 par flottation par exemple; après désulfuration, transporter la boue de méthanol et de charbon par une canalisation 8 jusqu'à un emplacement éloigné pour l'utiliser, le charbon pouvant être séparé du méthanol et utilisé comme combustible ou la totalité de la boue pouvant être utilisée comme combustible. Le présent procédé permet de désulfurer le charbon et offre une solution efficace pour transporter le charbon désulfuré sous la forme d'une boue à pouvoir calorifique élevé jusqu'à un point d'utilisation.
