Abstract

Electrode with a removable and interchangeable sensitive end has a body which can accommodate several different types of sensitive ends. The internal reference soln. is contained in the end where it is stored in appropriate material and not in the glass tube inside the body. Electrical continuity between the exit contact and the exit conductor path is ensured by separable electrical connection inside the body, providing immediate contact when the end and body are joined, without needing any other control of their respective positions. Used as a "liquid membrane" electrode. The electrode exhibits stable electrical resistance. Impregnation of the membrane by the specific liquid exchanger is sufficient and regular, and is consistent enough for extended periods of time that it is only rarely necessary to replace the components.
