Abstract

The identification system is for tubes containing samples, which consist of perforated labels which are mounted on the tubes. This is intended for ease of processing a large number of medicinal samples. It can incorporate a scanning system for the labels. The labels have metallic foils (2) along a number of information tracks (3-7) in the holes (8). The readout equipment (9) is provided with scanning element (10-14) which scan the tracks. The scanners are connected to a voltage scanning the conductivity of the metallic foils (2). One side of the metallic foil is coated with an adhesive for sticking to the tube.
