Abstract

A motor and in particular the motor shaft has a sealing arrangement preventing liquids from entering the motor body, as can be the case where the motor is used to drive some form of liquid stirring or mixing mechanism within a tank. The shaft has an internal sealing ring, consisting of two bushes spaced by ball or roller bearings (10) and an end casing (5) carrying radial fins (18) which support a disc (12) clamping the motor to the tank wall. The shaft passes through the ring via a further aluminium oxide (141)/rubber (142) sealing ring and sprung clamping piece (15) such that any liquid escaping through it flows over the motor casing (4) surface rather than into the motor proper.
