Abstract

A recording element sensitive to ionising radiation comprises at least one recording sheet or layer contg. a cpd. of Sn (IV), e.g. oxalate, excluding Sn (IV) oxide, which is sensitive to ionising radiation, and in which the Sn (IV) can be converted into Sn (II) by the ionising radiation. The recording element is exposed to ionising radiation modulated in the form of the information, to for a latent image in terms of the Sn(II) produced. The latent image can then be developed into a visible image.
