Abstract

The anatomical bicycle seat has in the rear part of the top supporting surface two symmetrical recesses (1, 2) accommodating the iliac bones of the rider. The recesses can be separated by a short central rib (3) extending from the rear end for only one-third of the total length, so as not to compress the urinary passage of the rider. The top surface can be a shell formed directly in the mould. There can be a surface with recesses and a short axial cushion rib, fitting over a saddle of conventional design.
