Abstract

The yoghurt pot handling system which is intended to place groups of pots, held in packaging, onto a conveyor belt consists of a nose piece a sheath and extending fingers, which are attached to the arm of a machine. The nose piece fits through a central hole in the packaging and the fingers are extended by an hydraulic piston which acts on the finger holder placed inside the sheath. The fingers are rectangular or square in section, which improves the handling of the pack whilst the sequence of vertical movements is precise and does not deform or displace the package.
