Abstract

The disposable tipped cutting tool consists of a holder (1), cutting tip (2) and holding clamp (3). The end of the holder has oblique faces (4, 5) designed to take the reaction of the tip. A groove (7) is machined into the holder on which the heel (18) of the clamp (3) is located. A tongue (16) on the clamp locates onto a groove (9) on the cutting tip (2). The tip is symmetrical about the groove allowing both faces (12, 14) to be used. The end face of the cutting tip (2) has the shape approx. of a parallelogram.
