Abstract

L'invention décrit une composition stabilisée d'un dithionite de métal. La composition contient une faible proportion (généralement 0,2 à 2,0 % du poids de la composition) d'au moins un composé carbonylé aromatique choisi parmi la vanilline, l'éthyl-vanilline et la benzoïne. On a introduit ce stabilisant, fondu ou sous forme d'une solution ou dispersion, pendant ou après la fabrication du dithionite et l'on a éliminé ce solvant éventuel. On évite ainsi des réactions exothermiques pouvant provoquer des incendies. Les solutions aqueuses de dithionite de Na servent dans les industries du textile et de la pâte à papier comme agent de blanchiment, comme des réducteurs pour des colorants pour cuves et pour détruire certains colorants (azoïques).
