Abstract

Procédé de préparation de polymères du chlorure de vinyle appropriés à la formation de pâtes par émulsion des monomères dans l'eau avec des produits auxiliaires dispersants usuels et des inducteurs, homogenéisation jusqu'à formation de gouttelettes de 0,1 à 3 microns et polymérisation sous agitation à chaud. Dans la première partie de la polymérisation, jusqu'à un taux de conversion d'environ 30 à 80 % du poids des monomères mis en oeuvre, on agite plus fortement que dans la deuxième partie de la polymérisation, la puissance d'agitation appliquée dans la première partie de la polymérisation représentant de 3 à 20 fois celle qui est appliquée dans la deuxième partie de la polymérisation laquelle, selon la technique antérieure, est juste suffisante pour qu'il ne se forme pas de quantités notables de coagulat. L'augmentation de la puissance d'agitation dans la première partie de la polymérisation permet d'augmenter les capacités de production des installations.
