Abstract

La présente invention concerne un four de traitement par la chaleur et un procédé de traitement thermochimique d'une charge métallique disposée dans l'enceinte d'un four chauffé en présence d'un gaz. Ce four comprend des moyens pour donner au gaz dans l'enceinte un mouvement de va-et-vient, alors qu'il s'écoule de ladite entrée jusqu'à ladite sortie, ce qui fait que la circulation de gaz à l'intérieur de l'enceinte est une circulation oscillatoire et que le trajet du gaz au voisinage de la pièce charge est oscillatoire. Application aux traitements par un gaz chaud tels que carburation, décarburation, réduction et nitruration.
