Abstract
The core-cutter bit may be used on a power drill and is for cutting holes in steel. The tool will cut sheet steel in excess of 8mm thick, can be adjusted to vary the hole dia and is of the type with a tool (3) on a holder (2) mounted on a mandrel (1). The tool-holder (2) adjusts by sliding in a channel (6) in the mandrel, and is longitudinally slotted (13) for fixing by locking screws (17, 18) into threaded mandrel-drillings (15, 16). The slot (13) of the tool-holder is also traversed by a centering pin (5) which projects axially from the mandrel (1), and one or two fixing screws may be deployed. When one fixing screw (18) is deployed it is sited in diametric opposition to the tool (3) about the centering pin (5), and the two screw (17, 18) fixing is symmetrical about the centering pin.
