Abstract

A gas supply circuit is for electro-chemical cells esp. zinc-air types where there are a series of individual cells within an overall enclosure containing the liquid alkaline fuel. The supply circuit ensures uniform air or gas distribution through the cells and minimises the deposition of carbonates within the cells. The air or gas circuit (11) enters the cell group enclosure (1) at one end and leaves from the opposite end (12). The external circuit takes the partly consumed gas to a three way valve (13) the exit pipe being open to the atmosphere (18). The valve either draws in gas through a filter (15) or from the exhaust or allows a combination of both to be fed back to the enclosure. A fan (17) in the circuit maintains circulation.
