Abstract

A displacement mechanism is for a stacked array of thermo-electric elements positioned between channels carrying the heat-transfer liquid in either heating or refrigeration configurations. The array is housed within an outer casing, the induced movement being lateral within it. The slide mechanism is both suspended from the top of the casing and rests on its base. The slides themselves are integral with the casing and engage with a rail like structure secured to the stack. Displacement is caused by eccentric cams working against raised studs, the cams being secured to either the casin gor the stack. One wall of the casing is free to move laterally whilst maintaining the integrity of the casing seals.
