Abstract

The coaxial cylinder mechanism enables one to rapidly combined several items of data. It consists essentially of two concentric cylinders (1, 2). The interior cylinder (2) can be rotated, with respect to the outer cylinder (1) around their common axis. The external surface of the wall of the exterior cylinder (1) has opaque parts. On these opaque parts fixed inscriptions are carried. The wall of the exterior cylinder has also transparent windows (7, 8). Through these windows appear indications carried on the external surface of the inner cylinder. The mechanism has at least a cursor (29) which can be displaced over the surface of the external cylinder.
